I attended one of the best APEX Team meetings at one of the best Oracle User Groups in September 2022.
Not only were over 250 bugs fixed in this upcoming release, but new features were announced.

<li>A Search Region Type (like Spotlight). Pick from multiple data sources and order by most relevant.</li>
<li>The 4000 char limit is now broken, with CLOB support for Markdown, Hidden, Text area and Rich Text fields</li>
<li>New process type "Invoke API" to call PL/SQL Procedures and Functions including support of complex parameters</li>
<li>Date Pickers will now be native, no reliance on JET.</li>
<li>New template directives including if/loop statements. These are supported in HTML expression for report column. Works in classic reports and IR.</li>
