APEX 26.1 Understanding the Metric Card Attributes

With around 20 years on the job, Matt is one of the most experienced software developers at Pretius. He likes meeting new people, traveling to conferences, and working on different projects.
He’s also a big sports fan (regularly watches Leeds United, Formula 1, and boxing), and not just as a spectator – he often starts his days on a mountain bike, to tune his mind.
The Metric Card is new? Is it good? Yes its good. Why? its Native, its easy to configure. The attributes make sense even with the niggles - read on to see what I mean.
How is this attribute used?
Which attribute goes where? I made this colossal image to show you how all the attributes are represented. Click to Zoom in
This is from the Universal Theme application.
You can see that:
Its Attribute Controlled
Its not controlled, as I was expecting, by Template Options.
Some interesting Attributes
The Badge > Label is badly named. Yes label in the HTML world means Tooltip and in this case it will show a Tooltip
The Universal Theme application shows &VALUE_DESCRIPTION. when this is not a column and is therefore ignored
When I change it to static text of LUFC
then it does show a tooltip of my static text
however its annoying that its only a prefix to the value and there is no native way of removing the value from the label. I.e I wanted it to say
LUFCand notLUFC 0.87%I can enable Display Label how
however all this displays the label both in the Badge and the Tooltip
The Label's help text says it supports Server-Side Template Directives
It looks as ugly as hell in the Text Item - but it does work!
Be careful of narrow widths though when using wide badged.
Is it a coincidence that Oracle's rival MSFT has a dip in its stock price in this test data? 😝
In Avatar > Icon you can using a substitution string, even though the Help Text does say its supported, to use different Avatar Icons per Metric
If its not documented, does this mean its unsupported? 🤔
Do you like the new Construction Icons in Font APEX 2.5?
In Badge > State you can only select a value of "danger", "warning", "success" or "info". It accepts lower and upper case variations. No others are supported. i.e hot, u-color-19, color-19, etc
If you click Badge > Display Badge and back on again, it will lose the previous settings.
It will then force you to select a Label - which is annoying as I don't have, want or need a label. In this case you can use a

In Summary - a welcome feature. some learning niggles here and there i.e labeling and putting all your Template Directives on one line. A bit of a limitation on the Badge > State colors.
Nethertheless what an ace feature to have.
Whats the picture? I log consumed by summer vegetation at Nidd Gorge. This log is the home to several mice. I don't think I captured a mouse on camera.
