Oracle APEX workspace and RESTful Path Prefix renaming

With around 20 years on the job, Matt is one of the most experienced software developers at Pretius. He likes meeting new people, traveling to conferences, and working on different projects.

He’s also a big sports fan (regularly watches Leeds United, Formula 1, and boxing), and not just as a spectator – he often starts his days on a mountain bike, to tune his mind.

I created a workspace called JESSIE. I thought it was a good idea at the time…

Here is my App running - take notice of the workspace name in the URL.

I made a huge mistake and now I want to call my workspace DANIEL instead

There are 4 places to change in INTERNAL

  • Workspace Name

  • Feedback Synchronization Source Identifier

  • Workspace Display Name

  • RESTful Path Prefix

If I change all 4 places and Apply Changes. When I run my application, I get a new URL and a renamed workspace.

Again, take a look at the URL.

However if im happy with the Workspace name, and I just want to change the URL of my application, then I just need to change the RESTful Path Prefix. I can do this in INTERNAL or I can do this in RESTful Services.

If I do this in RESTful Services, then I will need to register the schema with ORDS.

After this, or whilst doing this, you can set a Schema Alias.

After setting this, I can de-register it with ORDS if I wish, however this has changed the URL of my App!

ENJOY!
