Oracle APEX Roadmap Changes 2024-2025
M

With around 20 years on the job, Matt is one of the most experienced software developers at Pretius. He likes meeting new people, traveling to conferences, and working on different projects.

He’s also a big sports fan (regularly watches Leeds United, Formula 1, and boxing), and not just as a spectator – he often starts his days on a mountain bike, to tune his mind.

I visited the roadmap today (9 Jun 2025) and noticed some differences from the last time it was cached on 8 Aug 2024.

2024 Version

2025 Version

    • Improved CI/CD with APEXLang (a new export/import format for better pipeline integration)

Speculation time

This section is me speculating

Visual Application Logic

Hmm not sure on this one. Perhaps it was delivered through Application Object Dependencies?

Machine Learning integration via wizards

Bit of a shame this has been de scoped. Petition to restore 30 algorithms! ✊📝

Improved printing and PDF export

I believe this was delivered through Document Generator support

Improved CI/CD with APEXLang

This was demo’ed my Mike Hichwa at APEX World in Netherlands this year. See video

The comparison is very helpful and informative. As far as "Improved printing and PDF export" Document Generator is a good first installment but compare to AOP and there is a long way to go and still more to be done at the basic reporting level. This includes easier integration with APEX. Hoping this doesn't mean Document Generator is done.
